Un travail digne et inclusif (JBE) is a social enterprise operating in five countries, with local entities in Chad, Burkina Faso, Bénin, India and Bangladesh (start-up phase). The company is an initiative of the Dutch Christian NGO Woord en Daad, that has been running programming on the Job Booster approach since 2016. In Bangladesh, Woord en Daad is a member of the Bangladesh Youth Employment Consortium (BYEC), as is JBE. The Job Booster Social Enterprise Bangladesh, once operational, will collaborate with this consortium.
JBE’s core business is the identification, training and placement in jobs of talented but marginalized young
people, as well as offering them support for self-employment.
JBE uses a market-driven approach, combining three basic elements:
- Mapping of market demand and business opportunities
- Services for employment (young people and employers / businesses are Job Booster Social Enterprises’ clients and pay for the services provided)
- Linking with other labour system actors (e.g. by working with accredited trainers/training centres, facilitating access to finance through guarantee funds with local MFIs)
About the position
As Director of Job Booster Social Enterprise Bangladesh, you are responsible for the business as well as its development and scaling of JBE in Bangladesh. Currently, the company is being set up. You will contribute to registering the company, developing its business plan, and the establishment and supervision of the team. As Director of Job Booster Social Enterprise Bangladesh, you are reporting to the Director of Job Booster Holding in the Netherlands.

Your responsibilities:
- Establish, set up and build the JB Social Enterprise in Bangladesh
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the organization, ensuring alignment with its mission, vision, and values
- Develop and execute strategic plans and operational goals
- Oversee all aspects of the organization’s operations, including finance, human resources, stakeholder management, sales, and branding
- Create SOPs and compliance methodologies for the organisation
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, government agencies, corporations, NGOs, developmental agencies, and social entrepreneurs
- Represent Job Booster Enterprises in the BYEC consortium
- Represent Job Booster Enterprises at conferences, events, and other public forums
- Oversee financial management, including budgeting, accounting, and reporting
- Ensure jobs, training programs and services are of high quality and meet the needs of young people
- Stay abreast of trends and developments in the social entrepreneurship sector, and identify opportunities to leverage the organization’s expertise and resources
- Recruit, hire, and manage a talented team of staff
- Foster a positive and productive work environment
Your qualifications:
- Master’s / Advanced degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Social Development, or a related field
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a leadership role in an HR / recruitment company, the social sector or a related field
- Dynamic and entrepreneurial personality, matching with running a start-up
- Proven track record of success in developing and executing strategic plans
- Strong financial management skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and selling skills
- Passion for Job Booster Enterprises’ mission and a deep understanding of the social entrepreneurship sector in Bangladesh
- Experience working in cross-cultural environments
- Fluency in English, written and verbal
- Strong social values in line with the core values of Woord en Daad, a Christian identity
